Course Leader

Lucinda Powell

Lucinda supports teachers to use evidenced based psychology in all aspects of their classroom practice. She has a BSc in Philosophy and Psychology, an MA in Special and Inclusive education, is a qualified teacher and taught psychology for 15 years. Since September 2017 she has been working as an education consultant specialising in the links between psychology and education, with a focus on mental health and wellbeing and special educational needs. As well as presenting at conferences and running teacher training courses, she works as a coach on the School Mental Health Award at the Carnegie School of Excellence for Mental Health in Schools, led the Oxfordshire Schools Mental Health and Wellbeing Network and is a course author and lead tutor for the Psychology PGCE Coventry University as well as being an associate lecturer. Her Podcast ‘Psychology in the Classroom’ brings psychological research directly to the classroom.

Getting the most out of this course

Pace your learning and give yourself time to think. It often takes time to think about and process new ideas and information. We strongly suggest you take time between each module of the course to reflect and complete the activities and questions. The course content should take you at around 6 hours in total. Your certificate on completion will be for 6 CPD hours. We also encourage you to share your thoughts and support each other as part of our teachED community.
